In fact, the document will be displayed as you expect with any PDF reader, provided both fonts are installed in your system.Īrial-ItalicMT available at. It is not read as you expect by Chromium integrated PDF plugin, Okular, Xreader, LibreOffice Draw, Inkscape, Calibre integrated ebook viewer. So, a PDF reader will look for these fonts, will not find them, and will replace them by some fonts within the same family (Arial). The document uses non standard fonts, Arial-ItalicMT and Arial-BoldItalicMT which are not integrated into the document (or not as usually, using "CID", unknown to me).

I'd be very interested to hear how Foxit Reader handles that PDF. The last two words display as italic when all of them should be italic. To check what I'm talking about look at -īesides being plain text, not BOLD, look at the line under Verse 2 saying "Instrumental & humming over verse then…." OK, I downloaded the Flatpack version, opened it and looked at a PDF. Okular v1.9.3 is the version I have though it says v 4:19.12.3-2 from the Repository I use Okular, latest version 21.12.1 flatpak, and never had any display problem.

It is still available from Foxit Reader website, direct download link. On internet, look for ".2.圆4." (74 MB, distro independent version). While it has not been updated for years, it still works very well. One of the best PDF Readers is Foxit Reader for Linux.

When putting them up on the web, if I bother to, I open them (as PDFs) in Draw and then Export them which fixes them so everything sees them as they should be. They are not in bold and no italics if looked at with Evince or Okular. All of the words should be in bold and some instructions in italic. There are a number of songs on the Cracroft Ukulele website that have been done by someone using Microsoft Word to produce the PDFs from Word documents. Okular and Evince will not display PDFs correctly. It wouldn't surprise me if Master PDF Editor is better, but I have never tried it.
